On the day 15th of May 2023, President Lin Songtian met at the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to invite the life-long honorary chairman of the Pacific China Friendship Association and Princess of the Kingdom of Tonga, HRH Princess Pilolevu Tuita, to attend China’s — Pacific. The issues of the Feeling of the Regional Civil Friendship Forum and the Chinese-Pacific Civil Friendship have been frankly and in-depth exchanges. Former Deputy Prime Minister of Tonga Poasi Tei, Tonga Ambassador to China – Tau’aika ‘Uta’atu, Chairman of the Pacific Association of Friends Yiliya Otino, also attended. Lin Songtian welcomed Princess Tuita’s visit to the Friendship Association and expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Princess and the Pacific Friendship Association and its member organizations for their representatives to China to attend the China — Pacific Civil Friendship Forum hosted by the Association and their long-term commitment to Zhongtang, Chinese Pacific Friendship. Lin said that in the past few days, all island friends have deeply felt the new changes in China’s development through field visits in Fuzhou, Ningde, and Pingtan. Through forum exchanges, they have seen new hopes for win-win cooperation and deepened friendly exchanges between China and the Pacific. Reach a positive consensus with local mutually beneficial cooperation. Her Royal Highness’ visit is a journey of mutual friendship, mutual cooperation, and development. This Association is willing to continue to maintain close friendly cooperation with the Pacific-Chinese Friendship Association and its member organizations, and jointly contribute to the promotion of China-Pacific civil friendship and local mutually beneficial cooperation.

Princess Tuita thanked President Lin for his warm reception to China and said that the China-Pacific Civil Friendship Forum held in Fuzhou was very successful, providing a sincere dialogue and exchange for friendly organizations and local governments in the Pacific island countries. The valuable platform for mutual learning, the participants highly praised the forum. China’s development achievements over the past 70 years are impressive, and China’s experience in getting rid of poverty is worth learning from. In the future, we are willing to continue to promote exchanges and cooperation between the Taizhong and local governments in the fields of poverty alleviation, trade, culture, education and human resource development training.
During the Beijing period, Princess Tuita and his party also held working talks with the China Marine Development Foundation, China Aeronautical Industry Group, China Ocean Fisheries Association and other institutions.
